Bail for M Sivasankar in gold smuggling case

KOCHI: M Sivasankar, former principal secretary to the chief minister, has been granted bail in the case registered by the enforcement directorate in gold smuggling. He was granted bail on the 89th day of his arrest in the case. He has got bail in the money laundering case also. He will be released only if he gets bail in the dollar smuggling case.

He had earlier got bail in the case registered by the customs in gold smuggling. He got natural bail after 60 days of arrest. He was arrested by the enforcement on October 28. The charge sheet in the case registered by the customs is not yet ready. The process has just started. After questioning Rabbins K Hameed, the main accused in the gold smuggling case, it will take at least three months to implicate them in the case and that is why the delay in filing the charge sheet.
