THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president K Surendran has said that he would welcome Oommen Chandy if he wants to contest from the Nemom constituency. Speaking to the media in Konni, he said that nothing will happen in BJP's 'stronghold' Nemom even if Oommen Chandy or Rahul Gandhi contest the election from there. He added that the majority will increase more than last time. The Modi government has received great acceptance among the Christian churches. Surendran said that BJP is hopeful on the outcome at the Konni constituency.
At the same time, Oommen Chandy clarified that he is not contesting anywhere except Puthuppally. Oommen Chandy denied the news that he is contesting from Nemom through a press release. Controversy over candidacy should end. Oommen Chandy said that it is up to the High Command to decide on the issue of contesting.
