‘Two-leaves’ symbol for Jose K Mani, court rejects P J Joseph’s plea

KOCHI: A division bench of the Kerala High Court confirmed the allocation of ‘two leaves’ election symbol to Kerala Congress (M) faction led by Jose K Mani. The single bench had earlier upheld election commission’s decision in favour of Jose faction. The division bench’s order was after rejecting P J Joseph faction’s plea against it.

The court had asserted that they cannot intervene on the decision of the election commission. The court approved the decision of the election commission that the party Kerala Congress (M) and two-leaves symbol are for Jose faction. The court verdict would give a great strength to the party, responded Jose.

The single beach ordered in favour of Jose just before the local body polls. Following that, the Jose faction contested in two-leaves symbol in the local body polls. The division bench’s verdict in favour of Jose K Mani is at a time when the assembly polls are found the corner.
