Explosives seized from Kozhikode railway station; passenger in custody

KOZHIKODE: A huge cache of explosives were seized from Kozhikode railway station. 117 gelatine sticks and 350 detonators were seized. The explosives were seized from under the seat of Chennai-Mangalore Super Express train. A woman, native of Chennai has been taken into custody under suspicious circumstances. She was on her way to Thalassery from Chennai.

The cache of explosives was found in the train’s D1 compartment during a routine examination by the railway police. The police have not yet confirmed whether the woman in custody has any connection with the seizure of explosives. The police said this can be confirmed only after questioning her.
