THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Industries Minister EP Jayarajan has said he will not contest the elections this time. He has informed the district secretariat that he is not interested in contesting. The final decision on Jayarajan's candidature will be taken by the CPM state leadership.
With the Koothuparamba seat being handed over to ally LJD, KK Shailaja was likely to contest in her hometown of Mattannur. In this case, it was reported that Jayarajan might replace TV Rajesh in his hometown of Kalliasseri. However, Jayarajan himself made it clear that he won't be contesting the elections this time. The final decision on the candidates will be taken at the state committee meeting on March 4 and 5.
