NEW DELHI: Union Ministers Amit Shah and S Jaishankar on Monday took the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, officials said. Amit Shah received his first dose of vaccine just hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the nationwide second phase of the vaccination by getting himself vaccinated at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi.

Doctors from the Medanta hospital administered the vaccine to Shah, a Home Ministry official said. Union Ministers Jaishankar, Jitendra Singh and NCP president Sharad Pawar were among those who received the first dose of the vaccine today.
