TALASSERY: LDF candidate N Haridas suspects trading of votes in Thalassery constituency. He alleged that faulty nomination papers of BJP candidate N Haridas indicate the selling of votes between BJP and Congress.

Earlier Congress had alleged that there is an understanding between LDF and BJP over vote trading. On Saturday the nomination papers of BJP candidates in Thalassery, Guruvayoor, and Devikulam were rejected. In Thalassery, the party’s district president N Haridas was the candidate. With this, BJP which secured over 22,000 votes in Thalassery in 2016, is left with no candidate in the constituency.

Poll observes have predicted an easy win for LDF’s A N Shamseer in Thalaserry, but the unexpected twist in the constituency has made the electoral battle unpredictable. As both LDF and UDF are trading barbs over the vote-trading, it should be seen who will win the BJP votes.
