THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kadakamaply Surendran’s election campaign in Kazhakootam which was inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan ruined following heavy rains. The chief minister who addressed the campaign meeting lashed out at the organizers of the meet, even though his strong words were accompanied by his signature smile. The open stage was built near the Greenfield Stadium in Karyavattom.

Strong wind and rain lashed in the area, a few minutes after the programme has begun. When chief minister started addressing the stage, he was irked by the open nature of the stage and the heavy rains. Even though he continued his address after wearing a cap and umbrella, as the rain strengthened further he had to limit his words. Towards the last phase of his speech, the chief minister lashed out at the organisers of the meeting.

The chief minister reminded how the organisers of the election convention in Iringalakuda created a makeshift closed stage anticipating heavy rains in the area. The chief minister lashed out at the organisers when he saw the people eagerly standing under umbrellas and under the shade of chairs after taking it upside down to hear him. He also left the stage even before Kadakampally’s speech had begun. The election convention held on Friday was the last programme of the chief minister’s first phase of the election programme.
