Meet of priests violating all covid protocols; Case against CSI church, Bishop Dharamaraj Rasalam to become chief accused

​​​​THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have registered a case against CSI church for organising a meet of priests at Munnar violating all pandemic protocols under the Kerala Epidemic Diseases Act. The office-bearers of Munnar CSI christ church and other priests from the Southern Kerala Great Diocese will be charge-sheeted in the case. The bishop of Southern Kerala Great Diocese will be the chief accused in the case.

More than 100 priests who took part in the annual meet held at Munnar were tested positive for the pandemic and two died due to the pandemic. The CSI bishop Dharamaraj Rasalam is undergoing home quarantine.

The meet which held violating all covid protocols, held between April 13-17. The meet witnessed the participation of 350 priests from different churches in Kerala. The dead priests are Reverend Bijumon and Reverend Shine B Raj. Most of the priests who were tested positive for the pandemic are undergoing treatment at Dr Somervel CSI medical college hospital in Karakonam. Others are undergoing treatment at their homes.
