THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A meeting chaired by Higher Education Minister R Bindu decided to start online classes in colleges from June 1. Students will be given study aids and notes in PDF format. Classes will take place between 8.30 am and 3.30 pm. Classes should be held for at least two hours every day. Heads of institutions should take care to arrange the classes in a way that is convenient for the students.
Principals should ensure the service of the staff required for the functioning of the colleges. Teachers who are finding it difficult to travel due to COVID restrictions should inform the principal. They will be allowed to take classes from home.
Heads of departments are required to submit a weekly report of teachers taking classes to the principal. Principals should take the initiative to provide assistance with the support of department heads to students who do not have the technical facilities to attend online classes.
