THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister K Rajan has responded to the opposition leader's criticism of the action taken against a Revenue Department official. He said that he has never felt the need to intervene in the process that takes place between Revenue department officials every day.
"As the Revenue Minister, I've never felt the need to intervene in the process that takes place between Revenue department officials every day. If there is something that the Revenue Minister has to intervene, then I will definitely intervene. There is no difficulty in that. I am aware of that power and I think the opposition leader is also aware of that," the minister said.
Earlier, opposition leader VD Satheesan had mocked the revenue minister for saying that he was not aware of the action taken against the official who had provided a copy of the file on the controversial tree felling order under the RTI Act.
