Rains to intensify in state today; Orange alert in Kasargod and yellow alert in seven districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rains are expected to lash the state on Sunday as low pressure is likely to form in the Bay of Bengal on July 21st. Orange alert has been sounded in Kasargod. The Met Office has warned of strong winds and thunderstorms.

Yellow alert has been declared in seven districts. The yellow alert has been issued in Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur districts today. Authorities warned people to avoid bathing in rivers and lakes.


Fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea. The chief minister has warned the coastal people and the concerned government agencies to remain vigilant as there is a possibility of sea turbulence.
