THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health Minister Veena George said that more than 50 percent of people above the age of 18 in the state have received the first dose of the Covid vaccine. So far 1,66,89,600 people in the state have been vaccinated. Of these, 1,20,10,450 were given the first dose and 46,79,150 were given the second dose.
50.04 percent of the population over the age of 18 years was given the first dose and 19.5 percent the second dose. According to the 2011 census, 35.95 percent of the total population was given the first dose and 14 percent the second dose.
Women are the leading recipients of the vaccine. 86,70,691 women and 80,16,121 have received the vaccine. The vaccine was given to 39,84,992 people between the ages of 18 and 44, 58,13,498 people between the ages of 45 and 60 and 68,91,110 people over the age of 60. Ernakulam district had the highest number of people vaccinated. It is followed by Thiruvananthapuram district.
