Imran succumbs without waiting for rare medicine

PERINTHALMANNA: Six-month-old Imran, who was suffering from the rare disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), died on Tuesday night. Imran is the son of Malappuram Angadippuram native Alunkal Arif and Ramisa Tasni.

Imran's plight was reported by the media after Malayalees joined hands to collect Rs 18 crore for the treatment of one and a half-year-old Mohammad from Kannur who was also diagnosed with the same disease.

Many people came forward to lend a helping hand to the family who was worried about finding Rs 18 crore.
