Dispute over vaccine supply in Kuttanad; doctor attacked, case against CPM leaders

ALAPPUZHA: A doctor was attacked following a dispute that broke out over the distribution of vaccine. The incident happened in Kuttanad. The Nedumudi police have registered a case against CPM leaders for assaulting Dr Sarath Chandrabose at Kuppappuram Primary Centre.

The doctor was attacked amid a dispute with CPM activists over the distribution of remaining vaccine at the primary health centre. However, Kainakari panchayat president M C Prasad and CPM leaders Raghuvaran and Visakh Vijay said that they had not beaten the doctor but only protested. However, the doctor said that they tried to lock him up in the room.
