NEW DELHI: The family of the nine-year-old girl raped and murdered at Old Nangal level serious allegations against the police. The parents alleged that the police did not prevent their daughter's body from being cremated without their permission.
The family said the police stopped locals attempt to douse the flames. Police helped the accused in the case. They forced the family to say that their daughter was electrocuted. The parents told the media that the police physically and mentally tortured them when they went to lodge the complaint.
The nine-year-old girl was staying near the crematorium at Old Nangal. The child had gone there to get some water from the facility's cooler. Following her failure to return even after a long time, the girl's family received a phone call from the priest telling them about the girl's death by electrocution.
The child had burn marks on her wrists and elbows. The priest misled the girl’s mother asking her not to inform the police about the incident and that they would steal her organs if a post-mortem was conducted.
It will not be easy to find evidence as the body was cremated without conducting a post-mortem. The police have arrested four people including the cemetery priest in the incident. Meantime, MLA Ajay Dutt came forward against the police for making the family sit in the police station a whole day when they came to lodge the complaint. He demanded the centre to clarify what action will be taken against the police. The locals alleged that two girls have died in a similar manner in a month.
