Lockdown in 566 wards in state, highest in Malappuram, no restrictions in Idukki

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Covid norms in the state have been revised as per infection population ratio (IPR). With this, lockdowns have been imposed in 566 wards under 85 local bodies in the state. The lockdown is presently in wards above IPR 8.

Malappuram district has the highest number of lockdown wards in the state. There are restrictions in 171 wards in 16 local bodies. Idukki is the only state in Kerala that does not have lockdown wards. The IPR is below eight in all wards.

There are restrictions in 102 wards in Palakkad, 85 in Thrissur, 51 in Ernakulam and 47 in Wayanad. There are 21 lockdown wards in Kozhikode, 24 in Kasargod, 26 in Kottayam, 11 in Alappuzha and seven each in Kollam and Kannur. Lockdowns have been
