THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mani C. Kappan, the MLA-elect from Pala, has openly expressed dissatisfaction over the rotational ministership formula being discussed in the new Kerala cabinet. He is remaining firm on his stance that he should be given a full five-year term as minister.

Reacting to the issue, Mani C. Kappan said, “V. D. Satheesan had said during his speech in Pala that Kappan would not return in the same car he travelled in, but in an official minister’s car carrying the flag. Ramesh Chennithala had also made similar promises during the convention. They should now honour the promises they made.”

He also questioned the alliance leadership, saying, “They say it is Team UDF. Am I not also part of it?”

Meanwhile, Anoop Jacob has also reportedly opposed the rotational arrangement. The Congress has offered ministerial positions to both Mani C. Kappan and Anoop Jacob on a rotational basis, but both leaders are unhappy with the proposal.

The two leaders are also opposing the decision to give the CMP a full five-year ministerial term. They argue that all parties with a single MLA should be treated equally. Both leaders have reportedly informed the Congress leadership about their concerns.
