NEW DELHI: The Centre has made it clear that there will be no Covid vaccine booster dose in the country for the time being. The NITI Aayoghas decided not to give a booster dose. VK Paul, chairman of the expert committee, said that even health experts did not recommend it.
He also said that at present, the Centre is focusing on covering the adult population of the country with two doses of vaccine.
The demand for a booster dose emerged after many people raised concerns that the two doses of vaccine were not effective against the Delta variant. However, it is reassuring to know that Covid is less common in those who take two doses and that the recurrence of the disease is not serious for most people.
