KOLLAM: A threat for the family of Vismaya, an Ayurveda medical student, who committed suicide at her husband's house over dowry harassment. The letter has asked to withdraw from the case or else Vismaya’s brother would be killed.

Vismaya’s father Thrivikraman Nair has handed over the letter to Chadayamangalam police. The police produced the letter in the court for further proceedings. The initial conclusion of the police is that the letter may not have been written by the accused Kiran Kumar. Vismaya was found dead on June 21 at her husband Kiran's house in Sooranadu, Kollam.

Kiran had constantly harassed Vismaya for not liking the car of Rs 10 lakh given as dowry. The parents had complained that Vismaya took the drastic step following this. Kiran, an assistant motor vehicle inspector in the department of motor vehicles was arrested and sacked from service.
