Kerala records 22,182 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, test positivity rate at 18.25; 178 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 22,182 COVID-19 cases on Thursday. Among these, 21,122 persons developed the disease through contact, including 866 cases without an identified source of infection. 89 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 105 health workers contracted the disease on Thursday.

26,563 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,86,190 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 178 deaths due to the virus on Thursday with the toll rising to 23,165.

District wise breakup of positive cases:
Thrissur 3252, Ernakulam 2901, Thiruvananthapuram 2135, Malappuram 2061, Kozhikode 1792, Palakkad 1613, Kollam 1520, Alappuzha 1442, Kannur 1246, Kottayam 1212, Pathanamthitta 1015, Idukki 973, Wayanad 740, Kasaragod 280.

1,21,486 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 18.25.
