Cyclonic circulation likely to turn into low pressure; 11 districts in Kerala to receive heavy rainfall tomorrow

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that Kerala will receive isolated heavy showers and thunderstorms till Wednesday. A yellow alert has been declared in Kannur and Kasargod districts today. The IMD has also declared a yellow alert in 11 districts except for Alappuzha, Kannur and Kasaragod on Wednesday.

The IMD has warned that a cyclonic circulation over southeast Bay of Bengal is likely to turn into a low pressure in the next 24 hours. The state is likely to receive heavy rainfall because of this.

According to the IMD, the Southwest monsoon has completely receded from south India, while the Northeast monsoon has commenced over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala.
