THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president K Surendran said that the Centre's decision to reduce the excise duty on petrol and diesel was a humanitarian move. He also urged the state government to follow the example of the Centre and reduce the tax on petrol and diesel.

"The state government is making fun of the people. We will stage a strong protest if the Pinarayi government is not ready to reduce the taxes. The tactics of the state government to blame the Centre has failed," Surendran said. Surendran added that the state government had been fooling the people by putting all the blame on the Centre.
