Vandalising Joju George’s car: Bail plea of three accused to be considered today

KOCHI: The verdict on the bail plea of the accused in the case of vandalising the vehicle of actor Joju George will be pronounced today. The Ernakulam CJM court will consider the bail pleas of Joseph, the main accused in the case and Youth Congress activists Shajahan and Arun.

The bail plea of Joseph was rejected earlier. Bail was granted to former Kochi mayor Tony Chammany, Youth Congress state secretary Manu Jacob, Thammanam constituency president George Jacob, Joseph Maliyekkal and Congress activist Sheriff two days ago in the case.

There are a total of seven accused in the case. The actor’s car was attacked on November 1 during road blockade of the congress in Vyttila. The attackers vandalised the window of the Land Rover Defender in which Joju was travelling. The prosecution had informed the court that an amount of Rs 6.5 lakh is needed to repair the car.
