THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has filed an application in the Thiruvananthapuram Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court seeking withdrawal of the case of attack on the BJP state office. The court, which received the application file, summoned the first witness in the case. However, the BJP filed a counter-petition in the court stating that the case cannot be withdrawn. The court then decided to hear the withdrawal petition. The court will hear the case on January 1, 2022.

The four accused in the case are IP Binu, a former municipal councillor and Palayam area committee secretary, and former SFI district secretary Prijil Saj Krishna, Jerin and Sukesh. The court had earlier granted them bail. The BJP office was attacked on July 28, 2017. The BJP office was attacked within hours of the attack on Bineesh Kodiyeri's house.
