THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A decision has been taken to increase the security of Cliff House, the official residence of the Chief Minister. The Home Department approved the police chief's suggestions to increase security.
A committee of various departments will be constituted under the DIG in charge of security. A special deputy commissioner will be appointed for the security of the Chief Minister. The Home Department said in a letter to the DGP that it Is considering creating a new post for this purpose. For security reasons, Z-plus security has been provided to the Chief Minister.
The decision to increase security came after the Youth Congress march in front of Cliff House in 2020 in violation of police bans. Intelligence reports were also taken into account. The Youth Congress had taken action against the police in March for a security breach
