Clash between CPM and BJP activists at Ayiroopara in Pothencode

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A clash has erupted between CPM and BJP activists at Ayiroopara in Pothencode, where local by-elections are being held. The clash erupted following a dispute over an elderly woman coming to vote. Activists of the two parties got involved in the clash after the voting time. Police have reached the spot to bring the situation under control.

The by-election was held today in the Pothencode division of Pothencode block panchayat. The by-poll was called after M Sreekanthan, chairman of the Block Panchayat Development Standing Committee, died of Covid.
