THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Saturday said that there was a mystery surrounding the Centre's decision to raise the minimum age of marriage for women from 18 to 21 years. While stating that there was no need to raise the minimum age at present, Kodiyeri added that there was no confusion in the CPM in this regard.

Meanwhile, Kodiyeri also said that the LDF government will go ahead with the K-Rail project. "The K-Rail project was promised in LDF's election manifesto. The government will go ahead with the project. However, it is in no hurry to implement the project. What Shashi Tharoor said about the project the other day was the general position of Kerala," Kodiyeri said. He added that CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran had made it clear that the party was not against the K-Rail project.
