PATHANAMTHITTA: Health Minister Veena George has said that there is no Omicron community transmission in Kerala at present. She said that everyone should be vigilant to control the spread of the disease.

The booster dose distribution of Covid vax for adults will start from January 10. The process of vaccinating children above 15 years of age would start from tomorrow. Registration for 15 to 18-year-olds started at 3 pm yesterday via the Cowin portal. Those who are unable to register will have a spot registration facility at the vaccination centres. With the help of educational institutions, students will be given the opportunity to get jabbed from there. A pink board will be displayed at the entrance to identify vaccination centres for teenagers. If the parents are unable to complete the registration process for any reason, it will be resolved with the help of the education department, the minister said.

The minister added that the health department had asked the education department for details of children not included in the registration for the vaccine and would take further action after receiving it.
