Kerala records 5296 COVID-19 cases on Friday, 35 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 5296 COVID-19 cases on Friday. Among these, 4896 persons developed the disease through contact, including 276 cases without an identified source of infection. 76 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 48 health workers contracted the disease on Friday.

2404 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 27,859 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 35 deaths due to the virus on Friday with the toll rising to 49,305.

Thiruvananthapuram 1116, Ernakulam 1086, Kozhikode 551, Thrissur 437, Kollam 302, Kannur 289, Kottayam 289, Pathanamthitta 261, Alappuzha 223, Malappuram 210, Palakkad 201, Idukki 142, Wayanad 118 and Kasaragod 71.
