New guidelines issued: Teachers need not go to school on January 22 and 29

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The education department has informed that the teachers who teach in classes one to nine need not go to school on January 22 and 29. The department has issued new guidelines regarding additional regulation of schools in the state as part of Covid prevention measures. Pregnant women working in schools can be allowed to work from home. Certificate from a government doctor (allopathy) is required to allow work from home for employees such as mothers with children under the age of two, cancer patients and critically ill patients. It is the responsibility of the principal and the head teacher to ensure that the teachers working from home participate in the online classes and follow-up activities. Classes up to nine will be online for two weeks only. This does not apply to special schools that specialize in therapy.
