Expat dies in accident while going for Covid test

KOLLAM: An expatriate died in an accident while he was going for a Covid test to return to the Gulf after vacation. His wife’s nephew who accompanied him sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to a private hospital. The dead has been identified as Radhakrishna Pillai (58) of Chavara and the injured as Arjun (20). The accident happened last evening near Palathara on the bypass road.

A car hit Pillai’s scooter when he was going for the RTPCR test at the cooperative hospital in Palathara, to return to Sharjah on Saturday. Though he was taken to the hospital, his life could not be saved. He leaves behind his wife Geetha and daughters Arathy and Parvathy.
