Rates slashed; Rs 100 for antigen, 300 for RT-PCR

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government has slashed the rate of Covid-19 tests at hospitals and private labs. The rate of RT-PCR tests has been reduced from Rs 500 to Rs 300, while that of antigen tests has been reduced from Rs 300 to Rs 100. The rates of Expert NAT, True NAT, and RT-Lamp have been reduced to Rs 2,350, Rs 1225 and Rs 1025 respectively. The price of PPE Kits and N95 masks have also been reduced. The minimum price for one unit of PPE Kit (XL) is Rs 154. The maximum price is Rs 175. The minimum and maximum prices of one unit of PPE Kit (XXL) are Rs 156 and Rs 175 respectively. The minimum price for an N95 mask is Rs 5.50 and the maximum is Rs 15.

Minister Veena George has said that stern action will be taken against those who charge excessive rates. The rates were slashed on the basis of a report submitted by the MD of the Kerala Medical Services Corporation.
