One and half-year-old girl drowned to death in Kochi; grandmother's lover arrested

KOCHI: In a horrific incident, a one-and-a-half-year-old girl was killed by drowning it in a bucket filled with water. The incident took place on Tuesday morning. Police have arrested the 27- year-old lover of the child's grandmother in connection with the incident. The arrested has been identified as John Binoy D'Cruz. The baby was staying with its grandmother.

The accused committed the crime after taking a room in a hotel. The truth came to light during the interrogation by the police.

The accused had rushed the baby to the hospital after killing it. The police launched an investigation after receiving a complaint from the hospital authorities.
