India's missile misfire a strategic operation? Pak's Chinese defence system couldn't track missile that flew 124 km inside enemy territory

NEW DELHI: On March 9, a missile warhead fired from India landed in Pakistan territory. The missile flew from Sirsa in Haryana to Punjab province in Pakistan. The Pakistan army said that the missile landed in an uninhabited area in Mian Channu. Though there we casualties, Pakistan alleged that there were other losses.

The official explanation given by India was that the missile was launched automatically due to a technical glitch. The Indian Ministry of Defense, which confirmed the incident, said in a statement that the incident was "unintentional" and regretted the incident.

There has been some discussion on social media that the missile may not have been accidentally launched and that it may have been an experiment conducted by India to confirm certain things. According to their observations, India has achieved three major things in one go.

First, India's cruise missile BrahMos was launched into enemy soil without further deteriorating relations with Pakistan. India was able to understand how Pakistan would react to such a missile attack. India could also understand how the Pak air defence system work.

Second, the Indian Defense Forces were able to determine the accuracy of the radars installed on Pakistan's borders and whether they could detect missiles from India. The missile from India was not detected by any radar in Pakistan. Even the Pakistani military knew about it only after the missile landed.

The limitations of Pakistan's air defence system was also evident. This is equivalent to India getting two birds with one stone. This is because China provided Pakistan with the HQ9, an air defence system deployed in Pakistan. The same defence system is used in China. The fact that HQ9 couldn't destroy India's missile even as it went near it gives India an upper hand in defence technology-both against China and Pakistan.
