IFFK: Clara Sola bags Suvarna Chakoram, Inés María Barrionuevo named best director, audience poll award for 'Koozhangal'

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Clara Sola, a Costa Rican film directed by Natalie Alvarez Mason, won the 'Suvarna Chakoram' (Golden Crow Pheasant) for best film at the 26th International Film Festival of Kerala. Natalie Alvarez also won the 'Rajata Chakoram' ( Silver Crow Pheasant) for the best debut director. Koozhangal, a Tamil film directed by Vinothraj, has bagged three awards including the audience poll award. The movie also won the NETPAC Award for Best Asian Film and the Jury Prize in the International Competition category.

The 'Rajata Chakoram' for best director goes to Inés María Barrionuevo, director of Camila Comes Out Tonight. You Resemble Me, directed by Dina Amar, has been nominated for a FIPRESCI International Award for Best Asian Film. The best Malayalam film in this category is Avasa Vyooham directed by Krishand.

Prabhas Chandra's I Am Not the River Jhelum and Malayalam film Nishidho (Director - Tara Ramanujan) were selected for the FFSA - KR Mohanan Award for best debut director in India. Avasa Vyooham directed by Krishand won the NETPAC Award for Best Malayalam Film at the festival.

Actress Nina Dziembrowski got special mention for her performance in Camila Comes Out Tonight (International Competition category). The Israeli film Let It Me Morning also received a special mention from the jury.
