THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With two years to go before the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP state leadership is now gearing up to focus on the Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta and Thrissur constituencies with the aim of opening a parliamentary account in Kerala. Actor Suresh Gopi's stardom will be utilized for this. Suresh Gopi is now active in Thrissur with the knowledge of the party leadership. Suresh Gopi will also have an active presence in Thiruvananthapuram and Pathanamthitta.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah was scheduled to arrive in Kerala on Friday to guide the preparations. However, his arrival was postponed due to some official reasons. The BJP-RSS leaders will hold a detailed meeting with Amit Shah, who will arrive before May 15. BJP state president K Surendran said that Amit Shah's new arrival date would be announced later

.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, the NDA had significantly increased its vote share in Kerala. The BDJS too played a key role in that. Although the NDA managed to get a decent vote share in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the performance of the BJP and the NDA in the last Assembly elections fell behind. There was a decline in support from all sections of the electorate. This time the party is focusing on Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta and Thrissur constituencies and formulating strategies. It hopes that it can win in these constituencies.
