Very helpful in understanding progress of development; chief secretary praises Modi's dashboard system

AHMEDABAD: Chief Secretary V P Joy said the dashboard system in Gujarat is outstanding. He said it is very effective in assessing the progress of development and is happy to learn about it.

The chief secretary and his staff IAS officer N S K Umesh directly visited Gujarat to learn about the dashboard system.

The two went to study the dashboard as per the directive of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. They will submit a report to the chief minister as soon as they return. When the chief minister visited for the approval of SilverLine, the Prime Minister advised that this monitoring system is a good way to ensure timely implementation of projects without getting caught in the red tape.

When Modi was the chief minister, a video conference called Swagat was launched to address the grievances of the people. It was a system in which the concerned officer immediately declared peace in the presence of the complainants.

The dashboard was developed for Gujarat when Vijay Rupani was the chief minister. The system works by installing video screens at the official residence of the chief minister of Gujarat. Gujarat claimed that by implementing this, it has been able to make great strides in the development activities of the government.

Meantime, criticism has been mounting since the delegation went to study about the dashboard system. The opposition alleged that those who constantly criticized for not accepting the development model of Gujarat are now going to implement it in Kerala as well.
