THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The autobiography of former Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Teeka Ram Meena has revealed about the obstacles that he had to face during the tenures of former Chief Ministers K Karunakaran and E K Nayanar. The veteran bureaucrat’s autobiography titled ‘Tholkkilla Njan’, which will be released in the capital on Tuesday, indirectly mentions about P Sasi, then political secretary during the Nayanar government and has direct remarks about T H Musthafa, former civil supplies minister in the Karunakaran cabinet.

“When I was the Thrissur district collector, I had taken strict action against fake toddy makers. The minister then directly called me and expressed dissatisfaction over my action. Soon, I was transferred. Later, when I met Chief Minister E K Nayanar, he said that political secretary P Sasi was behind it”, Meena said in his autobiography.

“I was the civil supplies director during the K Karunakaran cabinet. I investigated the wheat smuggling scam and brought out information. With this, then civil supplies minister T H Musthafa’s began to act vengeful towards me. He wrote bad remarks in the service book. I did not receive pension or salary, which I deserved, for months. I was constantly harassed politically for my uncompromising and honest approach towards the service, Meena wrote.
