"Don't try to blame it on party": BJP alleges conspiracy behind food kit row

bjp

WAYANAD: The BJP district leadership has alleged conspiracy regarding the controversy surrounding the widespread distribution of food kits to voters in Sulthan Battery. BJP District President Prashanth Malavayal said that the allegation that the food kits were prepared for the BJP is baseless, adding that that the attempt to blame incident on the party should be avoided and the concerned parties should investigate it.

"This is a conspiracy based on understanding that the BJP candidate has an absolute advantage in the constituency. Even more mysterious is the fact that the food kits were found based on tip-off. People know why they are trying to pin this issue on the party," Prashanth Malavayal said.

After Prashanth Malavayal, CPM district secretary EJ Babu also came forward with a response in the kit controversy. He said that the BJP was trying to sabotage the elections and had already received information about the distribution of kits to the voters. Babu said that BJP's move was to give food kits and oil lamps.

Last day, around 1500 food kits were seized from a wholesale distribution facility in Sulthan Battery. They were seized during an attempt to transport them in a pickup vehicle. The driver of the vehicle told the police that he isn't aware where the food kits are taken.

Items including biscuits, tea powder etc. were found wrapped in plastic covers.
