Can use the land required for Jalajeevan Mission projects, Cabinet gives approval to Water authority

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Cabinet has given permission to the Water Authority to use the land required for Jalajeevan Mission projects. This is a project implemented by the Water Authority. Permission was granted to the District Collectors to give exemptions them to the existing law for this purpose.

The major decisions taken by Cabinet include:

Research Centre at Malabar Cancer Centre

The Malabar Cancer Centre will be declared as the Post Graduate Institute of Oncology Sciences and Research. The centre will be renamed as Malabar Cancer Centre.

Anoop Ambika will be appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Kerala Startup Mission on a three year contract.

Assistance to the cleaner's family who died in a bus fire at a petrol pump in Idukki.

Nine communities are added on the OBC list.

Special Branch Detachment Centre at Kollam, Thrissur and Kannur
