Life imprisonment charges awaiting actor Siddique

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor Siddique is evading arrest while police are all set to impose charges of life imprisonment on the actor based on the young actress’s complaint that she was locked up and tortured at Mascot Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram. The sections are rape (IPC 376) and intimidation (506).

After the High Court rejected anticipatory bail, the museum police reached Kochi to arrest Siddique, who is now at large. Lookout notices have been issued to airports.

The actress who met Siddique through social media while studying in 12th standard, attended a cinema preview at Nila Theatre in Thiruvananthapuram at the invitation of Siddique on January 28 2016. In the complaint, it is said that after the preview, the actress was summoned to his room in the Mascot Hotel and then sexually assaulted.

The incident took place in the 101-D room of the hotel when the actress was 21 years old. A mobile location check revealed that the two were together. Siddique checked into the room at midnight on January 27 and stayed at the hotel till 5 pm the next day. The actress signed the visitor's register as proof.

Siddique had complained to the DGP alleging conspiracy behind the complaint. The actor accused the complainant of retracting statements and coming out with new statements every often. Siddique in his complaint said that the actress has made it her hobby to list out names of cine stars on social media alleging sexual misconduct. Siddique doubts an ‘agenda’ behind the current turn of events.

During the evidence collection at the hotel, the actress showed the room to the police. Her former statement of seeing the swimming pool through the room window proved right.

After facing serious bouts of depression, the complainant sought treatment from psychiatrists in Kakkanad and Panampally Nagar, which became crucial in the investigation. The actress handed over a note posted on social media in 2018 and a piece of news about the same in online media in 2021.
