NEW DELHI: A A Rahim MP came down heavily on the Delhi police. Rahim, who was taken into custody by the Delhi police for protesting against Agnipath project, was released Monday early morning.
‘The police said that he is not an accused after keeping in custody for ten hours. They cannot intimidate us and make us withdraw from protesting. The left organisations will organise protests. Violated my rights as an MP. Will lodge a complaint against the Delhi Police with Rajya Sabha chairman,’ said Rahim.
CPM MPs have lodged a complaint against police excesses to the Rajya Sabha chairman. A scuffle broke out during the protests staged at Jantar Mantar by DYFI and SFI against Agnipath scheme. There was a commotion when the police blocked the organisations march. The police dragged the leaders including Rahim and then arrested and removed them from the place.
The police carried Rahim and other women activists to the police vehicle. Rahim had then said that the act was goondaism and attacked him knowing him as MP. They also manhandled the journalists.
