KANNUR: CPM politburo member A Vijayaraghavan has responded to the controversy over the irregularities in the Payyannur Dhanraj martyrdom fund. Vijayaraghavan said that there was a conspiracy going on in Payyanur to destroy the confidence of the party.

"Some are attempting to destroy the confidence of the party. This attempt will be resisted and defeated by the people. Some media outlets are constantly giving false news against the party and its leaders. CPM is not a party that supports any action against the people. It is a party that presents all accounts to the Election Commission. The party in Payyanur is united with the party leadership," Vijayaraghavan said.

The CPM state committee which will meet on June 26 will discuss the controversy over the irregularities in the Payyannur Dhanraj martyrdom fund. CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, who had discussed the issue in the district committee three times, will report to the state committee on the fund controversy and the subsequent steps.
