Farmlands and human-inhabited areas should be avoided from the buffer zone; Opposition leader writes a letter to Union Minister for Environment and Forest

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader VD Satheesan has written a letter to Union Environment and Forest Minister Bhupender Yadav pointing out the concerns of farmers in Kerala regarding the buffer zone as per the Supreme Court order. In the letter he demanded for the exclusion of farmlands and human-inhabited areas from the buffer zone.

The buffer zone determination will adversely affect the farmers in Kerala, which has more than 30 per cent forest areas. Farmers are really concerned. The Leader of the Opposition also demanded an immediate action to address the concerns of the farmers.
