My father built all parks in capital city, but name for new mayor; have not been able to change name from crematorium alone

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Biju Pappan, actor and son is sharing the memories of his father M P Padmanabhan, former Thiruvananthapuram Corporation mayor. Biju talks about his father’s development work in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation and how the mayors who came later changed his name from it. He revealed this in an interview.

‘My father brought all parks in Thiruvananthapuram city. All these parks were named after MP Padmanabhan. All the new mayors that come will paint everything and then give their names. The next mayor will come and put up a fence or a tile and then change his father's name to theirs. All the parks I have seen in my childhood had my dad's name but now all that has the name of the new mayor. My father did everything that generated revenue for the corporation. They paint all the parks and changed their names but the name is still there, no matter how many paintings are done, the name will be there in the crematorium, said Pappan.
