KASARGOD: Some crucial information has surfaced in the case of abducting and murdering an expatriate youth. He has been identified as Aboobacker Siddique of Puthige Mugu Road. Indications are that a dispute over smuggling of dollar led to the murder.

Siddique's brother Anwar and friend Ansari were earlier abducted by a group. The accused threatened that the two would be freed only if Siddique returns to the state and as per that, he arrived from the Gulf yesterday.

The group had picked Siddique in a car around noon in the pretext of talking something. They later thrashed him brutally and abandoned him in a private hospital but by then he was declared dead. They also abandoned Siddique's brother, who is in a critical condition in the hospital. There is no information about Ansari.

Meantime, police said they have identified the killer group. A ten-member group is behind the murder. Police said Shafi and Raiz led the murder.
