NEW DELHI: A sexual harassment complaint has been filed against Sonia Gandhi's personal secretary PP Madhavan. The complaint was filed by a 26-year-old widow who lost her husband to Covid in 2020. In her complaint, she alleged that Madhavan lured her on the pretext of providing her with a job. According to a police official, Madhavan had threatened the woman that she would face consequences if the incident came to light. The woman had lodged a complaint with the police on June 25.
According to police, the woman's husband worked at the Congress party office and Madhavan may have gotten close with her after her husband's death. A case under sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered. Police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
