THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is a chance of heavy rain to lash the state today also. Yellow alert has been sounded in Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod.
The Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of rain at isolated places in all the districts of Kerala in the next three hours.
Yellow alert has been sounded in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod tomorrow and on Friday in Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod.
The main reason for the heavy rainfall is the strong westerly/south westerly winds over the Arabian Sea. Meantime, the authorities have instructed the fishermen not to go to the sea till Saturday.
