Cabinet approves 75 Plus Two batches

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Wednesday's cabinet meeting decided to give validation to 75 Plus Two batches provisionally allotted in selected government higher secondary schools during the last academic year. 18 batches in science, 49 in humanities and eight in commerce have received approval.

Appointments in the entry cadre of the Fishermen's Welfare Board will be left to the PSC. For this, the cabinet also approved the draft bill for making a law to include the Kerala Fishermen's Welfare Fund Board in the Kerala Public Service Commission Act.

Rs 5 lakh each will be given to Malayalam athletes HS Prannoy and MR Arjun HS Prannoy and MR Arjun, Malayali members of the Indian team that won the Thomas Cup Badminton Championship this year. Coach and former international player U Vimalkumar will also be given three lakh rupees.
